Alice H. Brown, was born on May 28, 1927 and entered eternal life on April 15, 2004 in Yuma, Arizona. Alice Brown was born at the Ft. Yuma Indian Hospital, Ft. Yuma California.

She was a member of the Quechan Indian Tribe. She took pride and pleasure in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was known as 'Granny' to all. She will be greatly missed.

Alice attended the Ft. Yuma Indian School and Sherman Indian School. She returned home and was married to the late Fritz E. Brown for 47 years until his death in 1995.

Alice had worked as a presser in the laundry and dry cleaning business. She was employed with Alpha Laundry and One-Hour Martinizing and retired after 35 years in 1986.

Survivors include, sister, Faythe (Arnold) Millard, of Winterhaven, California; daughters, Marilyn H. Brown, of Winterhaven, California, Marveen C. Brown, of Yuma, Arizona and Georgina Massey, of Winterhaven, California.

Mrs. Brown is preceded in death by husband, Fritz E. Brown; son, Reginald N. Brown; granddaughter, Alicia F. Brown and grandson, Ernest Brown.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2004 from 2p.m. to 5 p.m. at Kammann Mortuary. Mass will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 23, 2004. Tribal ceremonial rites will follow at the Ft. Yuma Quechan Big House. Cremation will take place on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at 5 a.m. at the Ft. Yuma Quechan Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Marlon Barley, Marcus Barley, Sr., Allister Brown, Elliott Brown, Gilbert Brown, Jermaine Miguel, Dennis Massey, Jr., and Gabriel Massey.

Honorary Pallbearers are Ralph Yuma, Arnold Millard, Geoffrey Cachora, Alden Cachora, Mario Barley, Marlow Barley, Jr., Jermaine Selena, Jeffrey Marks, Peter Laurenzana, Patrick Brown, Jr., Woodrow Brown, Douglas Osborne, Gordon Osborne, and Norman Osborne.
