On Thursday, July 29th, 2021, Marilyn H. Brown (born May 27th, 1957) got her wings to be with the Lord and walk with the angels. She was the youngest daughter to the late Fritz & Alice Brown in Ft. Yuma, CA. Marilyn was also known by her loved ones by Thintee, The Queen, Sweety, Mother Earthling, Grams, Gramma, Grandmother, Abby, Little Alien, and Auntie Merril.

Marilyn was raised on the Quechan Reservation and eventually attended Sherman Indian School in Riverside, CA, where she graduated high school. After graduating, she moved to the San Jose area while attending DeAnza College, majoring in Physical Therapy. She spent the majority of her life thereafter dedicating herself to being a mother to her 3 daughters. Later in life, she wanted to go back to school for social work because of her love of helping people. She attended Arizona Western College majoring in Social Science/Social Work. Marilyn had to return to the workforce and dedicated several years to the Bingo Dept. at Paradise Casino.

Marilyn loved spending her time with her world, her daughters and grandchildren. They are her pride and joy. She would always make time for annual family vacations as well as making her gand babies' birthdays & holidays special. Her other favorite pastime was trying her luck at the casinos. She spent her winnings shopping and spoiling her family. She also loved having treasured visits and long talks with her close friends and family while going out to eat or just hanging around home.

Marilyn is survived by her two daughters, Renee Brown and Venisha Brown. Her treasured grandchildren, Cyprus, Killian (Tiny), Alicia (Purdy), Dynasty (Pumpkin), Uniqke (Neekie), Adrian (Papa), and Nakari (Kari). She also leaves behind her great-nephew Jonathan Brown-Massey, cherished nieces and nephews, adored great nieces/nephews, great great nephews/nieces, beloved dear cousins, best friends Danny and Kerri and many lifelong friends. She loved everyone so much. Her family will hold close the countless good times, family parties, holidays, family trips, laughs, smiles, memories and unconditional love.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her daughter Alicia Brown; grandson Baby Boy Brown; father, Fritz E. Brown; mother, Alice Brown; brother Reginald Brown; brother Fritz Brown Jr; sister Marveen C. Brown; sister Georgina Massey; partner Frank Martinez; nephew, Ernest Brown; nephew Gilbert Brown; nephews, Gabiel Massey, Dennins Massey Jr.; niece, Marlene Marks.

Funeral services will be held at Yuma Mortuary (775 S. 5th Avenue, Yuma, AZ) on Monday, August 9, 2021. Public Viewing from 2pm-3pm. Services and Open services will be from 3pm-5pm. Tribal Rites to follow at the Quechan Big House, 1877 Picacho Rd, Winterhaven, CA on Tuesday August 10, 2021 at 12am on the Quechan Reservation. Cremation will be held on August 10, 2021 at 5am.
