FURTHER INFORMATION FROM VISITOR:

I have James Wallace Nott being married to Georgianna Benjamin.I do not know where this information originated.

In 1870 census in Watertown, Jefferson County, New York
Wallace J. Nott age 30 born NY
Georgianna Nott age 20 born NY (I believe is his wife)
Grace Nott age 1 born NY (daughter)
Olive A. Nott age 42 born NY (sister)
Chandler Nott age 8 born NY (nephew; Christopher Columbus Nott's son)

1880 census in Watertown, Jefferson, New York
Wallace J. Nott age 40 (listed as widower)
Grace Nott age 11
Clara Nott age 8
Olive Nott age 78 (mother)
Channie B Nott age 18 (nephew)[I believe this is Chandler W. Nott]

In the 1900 census give more messed up information. Clara has last name of Owens. The next person listed under Clara is Mary Owens. It is believed that this is Mary Nott. There is a 10 year difference between Clara and Mary.

Wallace is listed as "widowed". I think he married again and had the daughter, Mary. I have no proof for this.
******
Further Clarification:
If Grace was born in 1868, then her mother must be James' 1st wife, Georgie E. Benjamin, as she, Georgie, died in 1872 - after Grace was born. Then Allie would have married James after 1872, perhaps several years after as Mary was born in 1882.
