The Watertown Times of yesterday says: Mrs. Olive Nott, widow of Reuben Nott, and mother of Druggist J. W. Nott, passed away at 3 this morning at the residence of her son, 31 State street, at the advanced age of 93 years.She was one of the oldest residents of the city, and took pride in her longevity. She was born in Vermont in 1802, being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bailey. After her marriage to Mr. Nott, they removed to this city in 1861, and leased the American Hotel, which they conducted for six years. In 1863 her husband passed away, and after leaving the hostelry she has since made her home with her son. J. W. Nott. She was a member of the Stone Street Presbyterian Church and she was a devoted Christian.Besides Mr. Nott, of this city, she leaves five sons, and one daughter: A. C. Nott proprietor of the Butterfield House, Utica; S. G. Nott, of Albion, this state; Christopher, Silas being located in Denver and Theodore in Glenwood Springs; Mrs C. J. Cummings, of this city. The funeral services, which will be private, will be held from her late home at 3 tomorrow afternoon.

Claude was the son of Reuben Nott, whose father was supposed to have been named Theodore. Reuben was born 19 June 1798 and died in Watertown, NY on 31 August 1863.

His wife was Olive Bailey, a Windsor, Vermont native; she was born 15 May 1802 and died 23 December 1895. They married in Antwerp, NY and lived several years at Somerville, where Reuben farmed on a large scale. He dealt largely in cattle. The farm was located on the St. Lawrence side of the county line and he served as county sheriff there in 1853.
