In the early 1990s I started taking an interest in family history... my grandmother, who didn't know who here father was, had told me that her maiden name of Gustafson (her mother's maiden name) and that "Hull" was given to her after her mother Jean married Edward Hull. She said her grandparents were Gustaf and Paulina (Johnson) Gustafson. I later found out that these two people came from Sweden to Philadelphia in 1888. After much research and contact with Swedish relatives I found out that Paulina's family came from a farm called Jönsgården, located in the parish of Örsås. Örsås is situated in the district of Älvsborgs in Sweden. My great-great grandfather Gustaf's family came from the village of Nyholm, in the parish of Odensvi, Kalmar (or Hycklinge, Östergötland), Sweden.
