A native of Union County, she was born in Lewisburg, Dec. 16, 1927, a daughter of the late Elmer Reno and Estella (Rheppard) Dauberman. She was married to Marvin A. Black and her death breaks a marital union of 72 years.
Shirley was a graduate of the Lewisburg High School.
She had worked at the Laurelton Center, Milton Shoe factory, several nursing homes, and retired from Sun Home Health.
She was a member of the auxiliary of the Lewisburg Legion.
Shirley enjoyed flower arranging, spending time at the family cabin, and being with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children and their spouses, Marvin E. and Sandy Black, and Connie and Larry Smith, all of Lewisburg; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Francis Dauberman, of Lewisburg.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Clair, Gerald, John, Arthur, and Glenn Dauberman; and four sisters, Dorothy Good, Olive Hixson, Phyllis Dotts and Arlene Rice.
Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Lewisburg, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. John H. Shaw III officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hironimus Cemetery, Weikert.
