Mr. Jim Smart, a former resident of Claiborne Parish, died at four o'clock Sunday morning September 28, 1930, at the Charity Hospital. His death was not expected as he had not been ill but a few days. He was confined to his bed about three weeks.
Mr. Smart is survived by his widow, several nieces and nephews, five daughters, Mrs. Cecil Turner, of Lake Providence; Misses Vester, Florence, Julia and Pauline Smart, of Harris; four sons, Almer, Thomas, Noah and Frank, all of Harris.
The body was brought to Brushwood cemetery, near Dubberly. Funeral services were held from Brushwood Church. Services were conducted by the Rev. H.H. Wynn of Minden.
