He was born Feb. 21, 1915, in Onyx, AR., to the late Willis and Essie Barrows.
Mr. Barrows was a retired dental lab technician and a member of the Masonic lodge. He taught at Onyx School prior to serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Barrows was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ryan Barrows; a sister, Velma Dunn; and grandson, Dustin Barrows.
Survivors include a daughter, Velma Sue Barrows of Jonesboro; a son, Garry Barrows and wife Cleo of Mount Olive; a granddaughter, Sandy Dibble and husband Keith of Grand Prairie, Texas; a grandson, Jonathan Barrows of Carrollton, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Grace Dibble and Kristopher Dibble; and a nephew, Ron Dunn of Hensley.
A celebration of his life was held at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home. Interment was at Lowe's Cemetery in Hot Springs.
