Born August 26, 1930 in Blue Island, Ill., she was a daughter of the late Edward D. and Cora (Waggner) Kooyenga.
Anna was a 1949 graduate of Blue Island High School, Blue Island, Ill. She retired in 1995 following over 25 years of service as a teacher's aide for the Dover Area School District. Anna later worked as a crossing guard for Northern York County Regional Police. Anna was a member of the Heritage Senior Center in Dover. She had been a den mother for Boy Scout Cub Pack 158 in Weigelstown and Indian Rock Boy Scouts. Anna also volunteered her time with Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandy Swalm and husband, Ron of Dallas, Ga.; a son, Frank E. Armand III and wife, Trina of York; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; two great-granddaughters; a brother, Donald Kooyenga of California; and a sister, Eleanor Borschel of Blue Island, Ill. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheri Boone and a son, Jim Armand.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Anna's funeral at 11 a.m. and the visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Officiating will be Pastor Darrell J. Schrade of Mount Olivet Church of God.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Dover Bethany Cemetery.
