BLOOM Evelyn "Sis" Bloom, 92, of Middletown, OH, died peacefully on March 2, 2010 at Atrium Medical Center. Sis was born July 6, 1917 in Detroit, MI to Simon and Cecilia Deutsch. She resided at Garden Manor Retirement Village, Middletown. She attended St. Mary's Academy of Notre Dame, IN, the University of Wisconsin and The Ohio State University. She lived in Columbus, OH for 26 years. In a long and distinguished career in media and communications, she worked in Columbus, OH as the Promotion / Publicity Directors at WTVN-TV, WBNS-Radio and WLW-C TV. She was the Founder and Executive Director of the Columbus Junior Theatre of the Arts (now Columbus Children's Theatre). In the 1960s, she helped lead the "Save the Ohio Theatre" campaign and was the author and producer of an original musical for children. She was the PR Director of the Central Ohio Heart Association, and was listed in "Who's Who in American Women in Communications". She enjoyed playing duplicate bridge and achieved a Master rating. She attended First Presbyterian Church, Middletown for many years. Sis is survived by her loving children, P. Jeffrey Bloom of Epsom, England and Cecilia "Cissi" (Scott) Glickfield of Middletown, OH; grandchildren, Sylvia (Mihai Buretea) and Elena Bloom, Chelsea (Chris) DeRoche, Logan Glickfield, Laura and Sophie Bloom; great-grandson, Eli Buretea-Bloom; and beloved niece, Penny (Frank) Pagenkopf. She was preceded in death by ex-husband Howard A. Bloom, son Gary S. Bloom and brother Millard B. Deutsch.
