CHURCHILL, OLIVER C. – Age, 21 years. Enlisted, August 21, 1862, at Scott, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. D, September 19, 1862; mustered out, May 31, 1865, at Washington, D.C.

THE SYRACUSE JOURNAL; MARCH 1, 1905

HOMER, March 1 – Oliver C. Churchill died yesterday at his home on Cortland-st. Mr. Churchill was nearly 64 years of age and for many years was a resident of Homer. He owned a grocery store on James-st. for nearly 10 years, but disposed of it 8 years ago on account of ill health and since that time was an invalid but able to be about much of the time. His death was caused by Bright's disease. He was a veteran of the Civil war and has long been a faithful member of the M.E. church. Besides a wife, Mr. Churchill leaves one daughter, Alice Churchill, also a sister, Mrs. William Kellogg of New York city. The funeral will be held at his late home on Cortland-st., Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock.
