Mattie Elizabeth Perry, 89, of San Angelo died at 9 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2001, in Shannon Medical Center.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 12, in Belvedere Memorial Park with the Rev. Tom Martin officiating. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home.
Mattie was born Dec. 4, 1911, in Vinton, La., to William Henry and Ida Elizabeth Canter. She was a homemaker and had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1942. Mattie was married to Wayne E. Perry on Nov. 23, 1933, in Alice, Texas. He preceded her in death on
Oct. 11, 1980. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Gladys Cosner and Stella Hulin; and three brothers, Horace Canter, Ed Canter and William Henry Canter.
Survivors include her children, Bobby Wayne Perry and wife, Cristine, of El Paso and their children, Michelle and Michael, Ron Perry and wife, Vivian, of San Angelo and their children, Ronnie Perry and Melissa Schneider and her husband, Robert, and David Perry and wife, Delores of La Grange and their children, Kent and Tim Lycka and Lisa
Stoddard; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Francis Reeves and Janie Choate, both of Monroe, La., and Doris Booty of Deer Park; one brother, Dean Canter of Newman, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.
