David H. McKinney, Sr., 67, of Hedgesville, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at his home.
Born October 3, 1942 in Berkeley County, he was the son of the late Leonard "Nert" McKinney and Elsie Mae Parkinson McKinney.
He was a mechanic retired from Crown Cork and Seal in Winchester.
He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.
Mr. McKinney was an avid turkey hunter.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by wife of 46 years, Beatrice Pat Leonard McKinney; three sons and daughters-in-law, David H. Jr., and Kelli McKinney, Tony and Lynette McKinney, and Joseph and Dena McKinney; one daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Clarence Butts; grandchildren, Brittney and Justin Butts, Lauren and Jarrett McKinney, Josh Simons, Katie McKinney and Hunter Rodgers; two brothers, Bud and Richard McKinney; four sisters, Jenny Hutzler, Wanda Morrison, Linda Parsons and Mary Parsons and many friends to numerous to mention.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby McKinney; half-brother, Jack McKinney and half-sister, Ruby Parsons.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 16, 2010 at Brown Funeral Home's South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood with Pastor Frank Pilcher officiating. Interment will be held at Central Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Thursday at the South Berkeley Chapel.
The family requests casual dress and preferably camouflage.
