Mrs. Margaeret Fagans Chakeris, 52, formerly of Youngwood, died suddenly Thursday at her home in Winston Lane, Dearborn Township, Dearborn, Mich.
She was a member of the American Evangelical Lutheran Church of Detroit, Mich
She was born Dec 9, 1904, at Youngwood, a daughter of the late David W. and Annie Bennett Fagans. Her husband James, died March 4, 1956.
Surviving are one son, Fred Zimmers of Elizabeth, R.D.1. and four sisters, Mrs. Mariam Debke of Wyndotte, Mich, Mrs. Grace Downey of Tampa, Fla and Mrs. Ruth McComb and Mrs. Marie Springer of Youngwood.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 o'clock Wednesday morning in Detroit and interment will be there.
Margaret Fagan married Ernest leroy Zimmer. They had one son my Father Fred. They divorced around 1941 or so. My grandmother remarried a man named James Chakeris who stepped off the bus coming home from work and was hit by a car and killed. A year later my grandmother was found dead at the bottom of the stairs either by the neighbor or when my father came home. depending on whose memory you are jogging..:-) Both died pretty young.
William Hamilton Funeral home on Cass Ave in Detroit handled her but they closed up in the 70's and I am unable to locate a burial record
