My Parents divorced in 1967 and my father left the state to never be heard from again. Until 1989 when I located him in St. Louis and went to visit. Unfortunately for him we weren't able to begin a renewed a relationship. In 1998 he was living in a house that was owned by a friend who felt sorry for him. He allowed him to live in this house until he could get it ready to rent. The mailman had noticed the mail was stacking up and called the police. They found my father dead on a mattress in the back room. He had been dead about a month according to the dated mail. It is very sad that he died alone, with no family or friends beside him.
