This is most likely Abigale Eggleton, daughter of Cupe Eggleton and Sarah (maiden name unknown) Eggleton. Abigale was born about 1862, married William Edward Wootton (1860-1925) Dec 1, 1881 in Henry County, Virginia and died Nov 17, 1883. She was the first wife of William Edward Wootton. They apparently had no children.
There is a Virginia Death Indexing Project record that appears to be hers. She is listed as Abbie Wootton, died Nov 25, 1883 of unknown cause at age 20. She was born and died in Henry County, Virginia. Geo Thornton, friend, was the informant.
Per 1870 Henry County census records, the Cupe and Sarah Eggleton family is listed as black. William Edward Wootton is listed as black or mulatto on various records.
After Abigale's death William waited 12 years to marry in Jan. 1895 to Judith Ann Watkins (1874-1932), daughter of Salem Watkins and Lucinda Fannie Thomas. Between 1896-1922 they had 13 sons and 5 daughters, William passed away Aug. 28th 1925, Judith, Aug. 17th, 1932. REAMEY WINN #47510776
