Lloyd was a son of Lewis Abner Nelson and Verna Causey. He was married to Hazel Moye on 30 May 1938, a recent email from a niece revealed there were no children.

NOTE: FaG Contributor #47935295 sent the following suggestion regarding this memorial. "My uncle Lloyd Cleon Nelson was born on November 24, 1907. He died on March 8, 1954. Buried with his wife, Hazel, his parents, and his paternal grandmother.
