Ras Berry ("R.B.") Nelson was the son of Lewis A. and Verna Causey Nelson and husband of Rhunell Gaskins Nelson. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. After being employed with E.I. Dupont for 30 years, he retired in 1985. He was a member of the First Christian Church and served as Deacon.
