William, a farmer and miller, married Margaret Crosbie about 1770, probably in Scotland, and they had eight children: John; Elizabeth; Charles; Janet; Robert; Ann; Isabella; William. William the elder, died February 13, 1794 at Barcloy Mill, Colvend, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland.
