Thomas W. Head, 50, of Durant, died Sunday, October 16, 1977, at Osteopathic Hospital in Davenport after a brief illness.

Visitation will be 2:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, October 17, and 9:00 a.m., until service time Tuesday, October 18, at Lacock Funeral Home in Durant. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 18, at Lacock Funeral Home in Durant. Burial will be in the Durant Cemetery, Durant, Iowa.

Thomas Wayne Head was born June 4, 1927, in Confidence, the son of Thomas and Anna (Hixenbaugh) Head. He married Marilyn Jane Finck on September 28, 1968, in Rock Island, Illinois. He was employed as an auto mechanic at Ron Alpen Ford dealership in Durant.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; three daughters, Brenda (Jerry) Norstrude of Fort Dodge, Sheila Carter of Omaha, NE, and Amy Head of Durant; three sons, Bruce Head of Des Moines, and Michael and Thomas Head, both of Durant; one step-daughter, Victoria (Dennis) Harris of Durant; six grandchildren; one sister, Mary (William) Deney of Stockton; one brother, James Head of Des Moines; and one half sister, Wilma (Leonard) Hudson of Russell.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one half brother, Chester Duer.
