Fenimore started Tuesday morning for Weston, Mo., the home of their father is ill with pneumonia, was sinking and for them to come at once - their brother Ward, of Nevada was with his father having gone to Weston last Saturday. H. W. Fenimore was among the earlier ones who came to Montrose to make his home going from here six or more years ago - he has many warm friends among the older residents of this city, who hope the fears of his family are not realized and that he may be spared yet many years to cheer his friends as they travel life's pathway. - He is a veteran of the Civil War. Later: After the above was in type a message was received here Tuesday about noon from Ward Fenimore stating that his father died at eleven o'clock that morning. Wednesday a message stated that the body would arrive Wednesday on No. 9, 5:55 p.m. The body arrived as stated above, accompanied the sons E. M., Oscar, Ward, and Will Fenimore and wife. Mrs. H. W. Fenimore, on account of the condition of her health did not come. The body was taken to the home of E. M. Fenimore until Thursday at two o'clock when it was carried to the M. E. South church where funeral services were conducted, after which he was taken to the cemetery west of the city for interment. The body from the time of its arrival here was in the charge of the local I.O.O.F. Lodge, they were assisted in the ceremonies by delegation of the order from Appleton City, LaDue and Clinton. The services were attended by a large number of sympathizing friends and old time neighbors of the deceased and his family. H. W. Fenimore was 67 years 7 mos and 23 days old, he served and was honorable discharged from service of the civil war, was member of the G.A.R. and of the I.O.O.F. He was a man of good character, and respected and esteemed as a good citizen. The family have the sympathy of many friends in their bereavement.
