Clinton Missouri, Nov 11 1905 - Mrs. Carrie M. Fenimore died at her home in Montrose about 1 a.m. Sunday, November 6, the immediate cause of her death being cerebral hemorrhage. She had been feeling about as well as common and had done her baking and other housework Saturday and in the afternoon was taken with sick headache, which cased her to vomit and she also complained of her head. The two boys, Oscar and War, wanted to call a doctor and some of the neighbor women, but she said it was useless, for she was subject to these spells and it would pass off. Oscar did not go down street after supper but Ward went to deliver the daily papers which he gets on the night train and came home about 9:30. She insisted on their going to bed and to please her, Oscar did so but Ward refused to go and sat near her. He said he must have slept, for he was aroused and found her acting strangely. He called Oscar, who hurried out for neighbors and Dr. Miller but she never spoke. Relatives living in Clinton and St. Louis were notified and a phone message was sent to their father, who lives in Platte County and he arrived on the Katy Flyer Sunday night. Her only sister Mrs. Louisa Hoppe of St. Louis, arrived on the noon train, as did Mr. and Mrs. Elsworth marks and Mrs. Wash Lingle of Clinton, the two ladies being nieces of Mrs. Fenimore. Will Fenimore, wife and child, came from Kansas City on the night train Sunday but he was so overcome by the shock that he had a severe spell of nervous prostration and was not able to go to the cemetery to see his mother buried. She was born in Donrota, Saxony, March 23, 1849 and was 56 years old. She came to this country with her parents when a girl and married Henry W. Fenimore January 1, 1873. Five children, all boys; one died in 1885 when about two years old. The other four are Oscar, Edward, William and James. Ed is married and lives about 1 1/2 blocks from his mother; Will in Kansas City.
