MRS. EFFIE STIFFLER DIES SATURDAY -
Mrs. Effie Stiffler died last Saturday evening at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ewers, south of St. Paul. She had been ill one week.

Mrs. Stiffler was born November 30, 1883 in Illinois, the daughter of James and Matilda Edwards. When she was eleven years old the family moved to Howard County, Nebraska. She and Clifford Burkman were married July 4, 1903. Two children were born to them. They made their home in the Palmer community for several years. In 1916 they moved to Grand Island. In 1933 she came back to Palmer and she and her children DeLoss and Bernice operated a restaurant here. Since that time she has lived in Palmer much of the time and in recent years at St. Paul.
She is survived by two children, DeLoss Burkman of Palmer and Mrs. Paul Ewers of St. Paul; six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Mr. Burkman and Mr. Stiffler.
