FREDERICK GATES DIES AT AGE 67; SERVICES FRIDAY

Frederick A. Gates, 67, a retired industrial employee, died at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at his residence at 424 Elm street.

Death was attributed to complication and followed an illness of 18 months.

A native of Champaign county, Mr. Gates was a son of John and Laura Maggert Gates.

His marriage with the former Lotta M. Bowman took place on Aug. 13, 1914. She survives with a son, Warren F. Gates and a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Phelps, both of Sidney.

Also surviving is a brother, Earl Gates, of Sidney. A daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Allen, preceded him in death.

Mr. Gates was employed for 17 years as a moulder at Wagner Manufacturing Co. and for five years at Copeland Refrigeration Corp. before his retirement.

Funeral services have been arranged for 2 p.m. Friday from the St. Pauls United Church of Christ with Rev. James Rubright officiating. Burial will be made in Cedar Point Cemetery at Pasco.

Friends will be received at Cromes and Sons Funeral Home on Thursday from 3 to 9 p.m. and on Friday until noon, when the remains will be taken to the church where friends may call until the funeral hour.
