Lottie M. Gates, 82, 3346 Leatherwood Creek Road, died today at 1:45 a.m. at Wilson Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 28, 1896, in Champaign County, the daughter of James and Emma (Piper) Bowman. She was married in 1916 to Frederick A. Gates, who died in 1963.
Survivors include two children, Mrs. Evelyn Phelps of Sidney and Warren Gates of Piqua; and three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Bowman, Urbana; Mrs. William (Catherine) Mattox, Cable, Ohio; and Mrs. Golda Hughes, Hartsville, Ohio. A daughter, brother and sister are deceased.
Other survivors are four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gates was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
Services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Cromes Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert E. Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Point Cemetery, Pasco. Calling hours are Friday from 1 to 9 p.m. and Saturday until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
