Frances McMillen

PONTOTOC - Frances Marion McMillen, 93, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, at her residence. She was born in Pontotoc County to the late Tom Hardy and Dollie Ball Hardy. She was a faithful member of Toxish Baptist Church and a homemaker. She enjoyed working in her garden and yard; quilting, especially baby quilts for new babies; and providing food for her family and friends at mealtimes.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with the Rev. Rusty Miller and the Rev. Winston Ross officiating. Burial will follow in the Pontotoc Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include three sons, Bobby Eugene McMillen and wife, Lanelle, of Columbus, and Edwin G. McMillen and wife, Anne, and Charles Wayne McMillen and wife, Polly, all of Pontotoc; five sisters, Virginia Grzybowsky of Fisherville, Va., Sarah Bailey of Ecru, Edna Harris of Pontotoc, Peggy Rogers of Victoria and Martha Little of Pontotoc; one brother, Charles Hardy and wife, Lucy, of Whiteford, Md.; eight grandchildren, Lynne Rosamond, Lisa Sykes, Robert McMillen, Bradley McMillen, Leigh Hickman, Judy Fooshee, Rodney McMillen and Kristen Windham; 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde G. "Red" McMillen; a daughter, Linda Winter; a grandson, Brent Winter; her stepmother, Ozelle Whitehead Hardy; two brothers, Taz Hardy and Thomas Hardy; two sisters, Faye Acree and Loris Aldridge; and a half brother, Donnie Hardy.

Pallbearers will be Justin Fooshee, Jacob Fooshee, Evan McMillen, Brad McMillen, Leon Wilson and Ricky Collums.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. to service time Friday at Browning Funeral Home.
