OBIT: Earl Calvin Painter, 81, of Box 117, Rockhill Furnace, died at 7:17 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 22,
1984 in the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. He was born Aug 20, 1902 in Rockhill, the son of Louise (Hamman) Painter. He was united in marriage to the former Alberta Starr on June 10, 19 26 in the former Evangelical United Brethren Church Parsonage in Three Springs. She preceded him in death Oct 31, 1953. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Cleo) Snyder of Rockhill, Mrs. Jonathan (Audrey) Glunt and Mrs. George (Donna) Waite, both of Star Route, Orbisonia; a son, Alvin Painter of Three Springs R. D.; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Four sons and two daughters preceded him in death. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Wilson of Star Route, Orbisonia and Mrs. Pearl Stinson of Three Springs R. D., and a brother, Floyd Painter of Star Route, Orbisonia. One brother and three sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Painter was a member of the Orbisonia Church of the Nazarene. He retired in 1967 from the East Broad Top Railroad. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m., Wednesday, Jan. 25, at the Mart in R. Brown Funeral Home in Orbisonia, the Rev. Paul Bambling officiating. Interment will be made in Three Springs Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p. m. this evening and from 9 a. m. Wednesday until the hour of the service.
