On Adelina's immigration papers it has her father listed as Dominico Diotallevi, but on her handwritten log, it is Guiseppe Ceccanese. Dominico might have been a stepfather. On all other documents it is listed as Ceccanese. 09-28-1897 she was married to Louis Belli in Varese, Lombardia, Italy. He was 16 years old and she was 20 years old. Her first arrival to the United States was 02-24-1914. A Special Inquiry Immigration document showed her as not being able to stay, perhaps because of improper inocculations. She arrived again on 09-26-1914 with all of her children except for Guglielmo. In 1915 it shows the family living at 12 Sanders Street in St. Johnsville, Montgomery County, New York. In May of 1915 she delivered two twin boys, but they died one day apart from each other two and a half months later. She was not there when this happened because she was sailing back to Italy, perhaps to try to bring her son Guglielmo back to the United States. She left 07-24-1915 in Italy to return to the U.S. and arrived 08-08-1915, without Guglielmo. She gave birth to two more children after the twins. About 1917 they moved to Troy, New York. On the 1920 census it shows the Belli's living at 129 5th Avenue. They then moved to 138 Ferry Street in Troy. 1930 census show her working from home as a collar creaser. The highest grade completed in schooling was the third grade. She could not speak English and was naturalized by 1930. She lived in a three story brownstone, with her daughters Julia and Anna each living on a floor in apartments with their families. Her brother Don Carlo would visit a few times from Italy, and give mass at Saint Anthony's church in Troy. (Pictures are under photos.) The cause of death for twins is still being researched. She had a total of 10 children.
