Manor, Texas. March 7.—Died at his home here Monday, Captain J. H. Allison, after an
Illness lasting for more than a year.

Captain Allison was born in Athens, Ala., Jan. 20, 1841. He was married to his present widow In January, 1877, and came to Texas in 1883, settling in Manor, where he had lived ever since. He is survived by his widow and eleven children, all of whom were with him at his death.

Captain Allison entered the confederate service April 1, 1861, enlisting In Company B, Tenth Regiment, Mississippi Volunteers. He served for one year In the Infantry and the next three years in the cavalry service under General Forrest.

He had been a member of the Baptist Church since 1892 and was also a member of the Knights of Honor lodge of this place, which order will have charge of the remains after the funeral services, which will be held from his residence.
