WAS DROWNED IN COAL PIT
Leo McVey Probably Attacked by Cramps While Taking a Bath.
Was a Son of Rev. McVey Who Formerly Lived Near Metz - Deceased Was 21 Years Old.

Leo McVey was drowned Monday afternoon in an abandoned coal pit about seven miles northwest of Metz in Henry township. McVey was employed by Jerry Kerns and left the hay field about 2 o'clock. After he had been absent an hour a search was made for him. His clothing was found near the coal pit and later his body was recovered. It is probable that he went in to take a bath and was overcome by cramps. McVey was aged about 21 years. He was a son of Wm McVey who formerly resided north of Metz, but who now lives near Shreveport, La.
