She was born in Wenatchee, Washington, to Wilber [Wilbur] and Esther Groff on Jan. 17, 1927. As a young girl, she and her inseparable twin sister, Thelma Groff Woods, picked cherries and packed them in boxes. Age 16 to 78 she worked as a silk finisher and retired from the Village Dry Cleaners in Missoula.
As a young lady she was very active in church, playing piano, guitar and accordion. She met Wallace L. Boucher at church. He started coming to her parents home teaching Bible studies, they fell in love and married Aug. 29, 1952. In Wenatchee, first daughter, Suzette Eugenia Edwards was born. Moved to Missoula; Wally welded. Wally and Jeannie helped to pastor a small local church of God. Jeannie taught Sunday school and ministered in songs and music and held Bible studies and prayer meetings in home.
Their second daughter, Virginia Lee Pfankuch, was born in Missoula.
Her love, laughter and music blessed many to the very end as she was still singing songs to Jesus, smiling and laughing.
She was preceded in death by parents, Wilber [Wilbur] and Esther Groff; husband Wallace L. Boucher; sister Vera and husband Ervin Goytowski; twin Thelma and her husband, Don Woods.
She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Suzette and Will Edward of Spanaway, Wash., and Virginia (Ginger) and Lynn Pfankuch of Helena; grandchildren Joe and wife Lindsey Pfankuch, Andrea Pfankuch of Kennewick, Wash., and great-grandchildren, Naomi Fry and Tabitha Pfankuch.
She was buried at Sunset Memorial Cemetery on Wednesday, Oct. 17. There will be a celebration of life service at Wellsprings of Life Christian Church, 3800 South Ave. W., Missoula, on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 6 p.m. with meal following.
