HIAWATHA - Services will be Thursday at Meek Mortuary here for Andrew J. Thompson, 82, who died Monday night at his home here.
He was born May 27,1889 near Kennekuk in Brown County. He was graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law and later served in the Army during World War I.
He practiced law at Horton several years and later was a farmer in Missouri. He later managed farms for Investment firms before he returned to Hiawatha in 1950.
He was a member of Community Gospel Chapel at Hiawatha and Horton Lodge No. 326, AF&AM at Horton.
He was married to Fannie R. Strunk April 14, 1917 at Hiawatha. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, William F. Thompson, Hollywood, Fla.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Mary Godfrey, Hiawatha, and Mrs. Margery Baker, Savannah, Mo.; a brother, Horton F. Thompson, Wenatchee, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Home White Post No. 66 of the American Legion at Hiawatha will conduct graveside services at Horton Cemetery.
