Russell W. Rusk was a resident of Fallon and passed away at his residence with his family by his side on October 10, 2012. He was born in Hayward, Wisc. to John and Eunice Mewhorter Rusk. Russell played football and baseball for the Hayward Hurricanes in High School and graduated in 1968. From there he joined the US Navy and was stationed on the USS Midway and after completion of his tours he was stationed at NAS Fallon in 1975. He met his true love Marcelle Y. Rusk in Fallon. Russell worked for Cypress Minerals Inc., in Fernley for 15 years and Nevada Cement Company for 26 years. He loved sports and was a huge fan of the Fallon Greenwave and he loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Russell was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Nichole L. Rusk.
He is survived by his wife, Marcelle; son, John; grandchildren; and many other extended family members.
Interment will be held at the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley.
