Obituary-Newspaper from Vernal, Utah, Nov. 1917--Funeral Services of Fidelia Kidd Hutchins
The funeral services of Mrs. Fidelia Kidd Hutchins, late wife of J.L. Hutchins of Ouray Valley were held in the undertaking parlor on Wednesday afternoon. Bishop Hyrum Calder of the First Ward conducting. Addresses were by Patriarch Harmon Sowards and President Carlson. The opening prayer was offered by A. Theodore Johnson and Harold Bennion pronounced the benediction. The singing was furnished by a quartette consisting of Mrs. Mae Calder, Miss Genevieve Wallis, E. H. Bricher and James H. Wallis. The pieces rendered were "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere", "I Have Read of a Beautiful City", and "Nearer, My God, to Thee."
Deceased was born in Riverton, Utah on July 10, 1885 and died November 12, 1917. She was the mother of 6 children, 4 boys and 2 girls, the oldest being a boy of 12 and the youngest 3 months. Attending physician pronounced that the sickness which terminated in her death was aseptic sore throat.
J.L. Hutchins, the bereaved husband, desires to thank all those who in any manner so kindly assisted during his wife's sickness and death, more especially the sisters at the Relief Societies of Roosevelt and First Ward, the Bishopric of the First Ward, the Fifth Quorum of Seventy and the good friends of Ouray Valley."
