---------------
Named after George Mather (1783-1837), memorial #175021187, who raised Capt. George M. Morgan's mother. (per FAG member 16055032).
------------------
In Wiley Sword's 'Confederate Invincibility' he writes of Sarah Morgan learning of her brother's death:
'Still to come were the horrid details of George's death. He had been misdiagnosed by the army surgeon; instead of appendicitis he had been treated for "something else." On his deathbed he had sent a message: tell his mother "his last thoughts were of her, and he died trusting in the mercy of his Saviour."'
