PROMINENT COUTIAN DIES AT 54
Mrs. Helen Blessing Remsburg, wife of Fred F. Remsburg, of Sharpsburg, died Monday afternoon at the Washington County Hospital after an illness of several weeks. She was 54 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Abram G. and Bertie Smith Blessing of Jeffersonville, Ohio. Mrs. Remsburg attended public school in Jeffersonville, and graduated from the Willimington College, Willimington, Ohio. She was also a graduate of the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. She taught public school in Winchester, Ohio, and Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

A member of the Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church of Sharpsburg, Mrs. Remsburg was president of the Women's Guild and a past secretary of the Regional Women's Guild of the church. She was a member of the Sharpsburg Republican Club and a member of Areme Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star of Sharpsburg, of which she was a past matron.

She also served as a board member of the Maryland Society for Crippled Children and Adults of Frederick. Mrs. Remsburg was a member of the Women's Club of Hagerstown and the Garden Club. She was a past leader of Girl Scout Troop 31, Sharpsburg.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Remsburg is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Preston Shellenberger of Hagerstown and Miss Alice Remsburg at home; sister, Mrs. Theodore Blessing Chamberlain, Lynwood, Calif.; brother, Henry L. Blessing, Columbus, Ohio.

Friends may call at the Leaf Funeral Home, Sharpsburg, Wednesday evening, 7-9. Services will be conducted Thursday, 2 p.m., at the Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church of Sharpsburg, with the Rev. Lawrence N. Strunk officiating. Interment will be in Mt. View Cemetery, Sharpsburg. The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m., and will lie in state until the time of the funeral. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Maryland Society for Crippled Children and Adults of Frederick.
