Thomas Anthony Abbott, 90, of Roanoke, passed away on October 15, 2012. Tom Abbott was born in Geneva, N.Y., on June 17, 1922. He graduated from Elmira High School in 1940, and enlisted in the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1946. He graduated in 1949, with honors, from St. John's University College of Pharmacy.
He was married to Josephine Milan Abbott on May 6, 1951. They were married for 61 years. They had one son, Dr. Michael Anthony Abbott.
Tom worked as a pharmacist for 50 years in Roanoke. He was District Manager for Peoples Drug Stores, owned Thornton and Creasy Drug Store and Peters Creek Road Pharmacy. He worked for Super X Pharmacy and CVS Pharmacy. He worked for AMI (American Motor Inn) as a consultant.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Milan Abbott; his son and wife, Mike and Carol Abbott; and his three precious grandchildren, Tom, Katie and Kelly Abbott. He is also survived by his dear friends, and was blessed to be with them on his 90th birthday celebration this past June.
