BURLINGTON- Mrs. Daphne Miller Bateman, 95, formerly of 716 West Davis Street, died at 1:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2006, at Alamance Healthcare Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington, by her nephew, William Edgar White Jr. Burial will follow the service in Green Hill Cemetery, Greensboro.
A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late Joseph Bateman, Vaughn Wyrick, Premier S. McBane, and O. B. Watson and the daughter of Robert B. Miller and Lillian Coltrane Miller, both deceased. She owned Daphne's Beauty Salon in Greensboro for 45 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington and a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro before moving to Burlington.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Joan Paul and husband, Robert of Graham; two granddaughters, Mrs. Daphne Paul-Perry and husband, Brian and Mrs. Debi Seals and husband, Larry of Smith Mountain Lake, Va.; five great-grandchildren, Paul M. Roberts of Graham, Peter L. Roberts of Alton, Va., William T. Vadnais of Fairfax, Va., Ramon A. Brito of Chapel Hill and Jennifer A. Corrujo of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; one great-great-grandchild, Ivai Brito of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; five nephews and one niece.
