Brown, Alonzo Raymond

Alonzo Raymond Brown, 83, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012.

Mr. Brown was born in Kansas City, Kansas to his parents John Leo & Minnie Jane (Howard) Brown.

Mr. Brown was employed by Imperial Casket Company at one time along side his father & brother as casket makers.

A veteran of the Kansas State National Guard, Alonzo Raymond proudly represented the United States of America and was honorably discharged on April 22, 1950 he enlisted, served & discharged along side his brother. It is unknown if he received a flag for his service.

Mr. Brown married Miss Georgiann E. Selders on Oct 06, 1953 at St. John's Methodist Church in Kansas City, Missouri & from this union there was two daughters.

Mr. Brown was a member of the Countryside Methodist Church, Happy Pairs Square Dance Club & he was a member of American Legion Post #221 Paris, Missouri

Mr. Brown was a metal polisher at Hiles plating for 30 years.

Mr. Brown was a life long resident of the Kansas City area & had moved to Pleasant Hill in February of 2009.

Mr Brown was preceded in death by his wife Georgiann Ethel Brown, & both parents John Leo & Minnie Jane (Howard) Brown.

Mr. Brown is survived by a daughter & spouse of Pleasant Hill, MO; a daughter & spouse of Gladstone, MO; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister of Lawrence, KS; and brother of Overland Park, KS; along with several nieces; nephews; extended family members & friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 19th from 6-8 pm at the Newcomer's Floral Hills Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 20th at 10:00 am also at the chapel. Interment will be held at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
