Ida Jane Newell

Ida Jane Newell (nee Brown) passed away April 5, 2017 at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas with family at side.
Ida was born June 26, 1927 to John Leo & Minnie Ida Brown of Kansas City, Kansas, where she remained a lifelong resident.
Early on Ida was employed by Colgate Palmolive & Peak as well as Motorola where she tuned crystals for the Apollo Space Mission.
Ida met her husband, PFC Ralph F. Bustard, while supporting the local USO during World War II. They were married November 8, 1944 to April 3, 1968 happily bringing one child into this world as a representative of their love.
Merle L. Newell took Ida's hand in holy matrimony on May 3, 1969. They lived happily until his passing on September 15,1995. They are remembered fondly enjoying square dancing at the Happy Pairs Square Dancing Club.
Ida is preceded in passing by her parents; John Leo & Minnie Jane, her husband; Merle Newell , two siblings; John Charles & Alonzo Raymond, first husband Ralph Farrington Bustard & a stillborn child.
Ida is survived by one daughter and her husband of DeSoto, Kansas; one step- son and his wife of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren; three step granddaughters; seventeen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and friends.
