ECKLUND: GEORGE

Calgary Tuesday, Oct. 22, 1974. George at the age of 73 years, beloved husband of Mrs. Karin Ecklund of Taber.

Born at Attwater, Minnesota, the late Mr. Ecklund lived in North Dakota until 1921, when he moved to Canada. He married Karin Valin in 1924 and settled in the Riverhurst Saskatchewan area and fanned in the Gilroy district until retiring in 1974. They moved to Taber in March of this year where they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Besides his loving wife he is survived by six daughters, and five sons. (names of surviving relatives deleted) Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Ellen Lindquist of Central Butte Sask., Mrs. Florence Larson, of Kenmare, North Dakota, Mrs. Frances Soranson, of Harvey, North Dakota; thirty two grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Roy Ecklund. In lieu of flowers those who wish may donate to the Alberta T.B. and Respiratory diseases in care of Oddie's Central Drugs of Taber. The funeral service will be held in Knox United Church on Friday, Oct 25, at 2 p.m., with Rev. R. HeffeKinger officiating. Interment will follow in Taber Memorial Garden. Funeral arrangements by REARDON HUMPHRIES FUNERAL SERVICE LTD., Taber.
