ECKLUND,
MRS. KARIN LINNEA ECKLUND of Taber, beloved wife of the late Mr. George Ecklund, passed away peacefuly on Monday, March 29,2004 at the age of 97 years.
Karin is lovingly remembered by her 9 children (names deleted as per FAG rules)
She is also survived by her sister Violet Travalia and brother Art Valin of Lethbridge, son-in-law of Peace River, along with 33 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband George, infant son Norman Lloyd, two daughters Vivian Thompson and Norma Crockford, four sons-in-law Joseph Crockford, Frank Summers, Siegfred Anderson and Gerald Whittaker and a granddaughter Cindee McCulloch.
Karin was born in Mora, Sweden on August 13, 1906 to Olof and Kirsten Valin, immigrated to Canada in 1910 along
with her three siblings. The Valin family settled in the Brownlee, Saskatchewan district, Karin and George lived all their married life farming in the Riverhurst area until 1974, when they sold the farm and moved to Taber. They celebrated their 50th Anniversary that year. Her
husband passed away in October of 1974.
The family wishes to thank Dr Beckie and the staff of Taber Extend A Care lor the wonderful care they provided
Karin during the last months of her life.
The Funeral Service will be held at Knox United Church, 4929-50 Ave., Taber on Friday, April 2, 2004 at 2:00 P.M
with Reverend Jim Lochhead officiating Interment to follow in Ihe Taber Memorial Garden.
