"Mrs. Lizzie Couch died at her daughter's home in West Browning last Saturday of catarrh of the stomach. Mrs. Couch had been a constant sufferer for more than a year and through all her sickness she was kind and patient. The funeral services were conducted by Elder Walter Cast of Marceline at the Primitive Baptist church Monday afternoon, and then laid to rest in the Hoover cemetery. Mrs. Couch leaves two daughters and many sorrowing friends to mourn her loss. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of the community." The Milan Republican (Milan, Missouri), August 28, 1902
