Retired Farmer Dies in Hospital
FORSYTH, MT. ------ Charley M. Smith, 69, a retired farmer died in a local hospital Sunday of complications following surgery.
He had been ill for five months.
He was born on Nov. 19, 1886, in Centralia, KS., a son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Smith.
He married Jessie A. Sunderland in Marshall Co., KS., on April 21, 1908.
They moved to the Forsyth area in 1913 where they farmed until 1936 when they moved to Wilsall, Park Co., MT.
They have been Billings residents since 1943.
Survivors besides his wife include four daughters, Mrs. Ralph Nile of Forsyth, MT., Mrs. Frank Cady of Livingston, MT., Mrs. Bert Fredericks of Spokane, WA., Mrs. Forrest Salle of Butte, MT., a brother William M. Smith of Atchison, KS., a sister Mrs. Fred Tabbe of Onaga, KS., 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The body is at the Michelotti-Sawyers Funeral Home.
