Stephen Wellons Hill passed away at the age of 51, on December 23, 2007 at Wake Medical Hospital, after months of fighting liver cancer.

Stephen was born to Mary Wellons Hill and Lester Norris Hill on June 5, 1956. Both parents are deceased.

He is survived by his only sister, Linda Hill Morris; his brother-in-law, John Morris, and his niece and nephew, Jessica and Benjamin Morris.

Stephen was born and raised in Raleigh, where he attended Broughton High School. He obtained his Forestry degree from Wayne Community College in Goldsboro. He had several jobs in the Triangle area including becoming a self-employed business owner in his later years. He was a life long member of Fairmont United Methodist Church where his mother and grandfather were charter members.

Stephen was a champion to the needy and down-trodden. He was generous and kind and a friend to all.

A funeral service will be held on December 29, 2007 at Fairmont United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Steve Hickle officiating.
