Second daughter of R. L. Edgeworth, Esq. and sister of Anna Maria Edgeworth whom Dr Thomas Beddoes had married in 1794. Emmeline married Dr. John King in 1802. Their first daughter, Zoe, was born in 1803 "after a dangerous labour of 17 hours" and there was to be a second daughter, Psyche Emmeline and a son, Edgeworth King, who sadly died at the age of 10. Aged 77 at death. Birth year is calculated.

She married Dr. John King, a Surgeon, of Bristol in October 1802.
He died at Clifton, Bristol on 18 August 1846, aged 80.

Mother of
Zoe King, b. 31 July 1803 - 27 Sept. 1881
Psyche Emmeline King Gibbons, 1804-1893.
Edgeworth King, 1809-1817.
Albert King, d. 1811.

The family history "The Black Book of Edgeworthstown and other Edgeworth Memories 1585 - 1817" edited by Harriet Jessie Butler and Harold Edgeworth Butler, 1927, London, Faber & Gwyer, quotes a date of death for Emmeline King of 1817.
This is now known to be incorrect.
The headstone in Arnos Vale Cemetery, Bristol, clearly shows that she died in London on 31 December 1848, said to be aged 77.
She was buried in Bristol with her husband.
