Vivian Earline Hees, 86, of Round Rock, Texas, went to her Lord on October 13, 2012 at her home surrounded in the loving arms of her family.

She was born December 21, 1925 in Warrenton, Texas. She married Alfred Herman Hees on July 6, 1947 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Taylor, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elsa and Harry Ludwig; sister, Sylvia Paseman; brother, James Ludwig; and nephew, Barry Pizalate.

Vivian retired from the IRS after twenty years of service. She and Alfred were faithful members of the Richland community and the Richland Church where she taught Sunday school for many years and where her three children were baptized and confirmed. She enjoyed fishing and hunting with her husband of 65 years. She was a devoted fan of the San Antonio Spurs. Being surrounded by family and friends was her greatest joy. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Round Rock.

Vivian is survived by her husband, Alfred Herman Hees; her sister, Una Mae Pizalate; her children, Aaron & Debbie Hees, Cheryl & Larry McGary, and Patti & Mark Maund; grand children, Holly & Chad Wallingsford, Cullun & Tasha Robbins, Clayton & Danielle Robbins, Brandon McGary and Justin McGary, Kristin & Allen Knox, Lindsey & Patrick Upton, Adam & Nicole Maund and Ashley Erin Maund. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o'clock to eight o'clock in the evening on Tuesday, the 16th of October 2012, at the Cook Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville.

The celebration of Vivian's life and legacy will be held at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 17701 Cameron Road, Pflugerville, Texas. Her service will be presided over by David Adkins, Senior Pastor of the First Methodist Church of Round Rock. Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Vivian's wish was for donations to be made to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 17701 Cameron Rd., Pflugerville, TX 78660

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Rosie Zarate for the loving care she showed to Vivian in her final weeks and a thank you to the compassionate nurses and staff of Odyssey Hospice. Most importantly, the family would like to express their deep appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Terry Chambless and his staff for their endless caring and support for the health and well being of Vivian Hees.
