Tom Alvin McNeil, 59, of Pleasant Grove, passed away on October 8, 2012. He was born on June 3, 1953, to Margie Murray and Morgan McNeil. He was the youngest of seven children. Tom grew up and attended schools in Orem.

On December 4, 1975, Tom married Brenda Bezzant and they have been together for over 35 years. Tom worked for over 40 years in home construction. He began his career learning many trades such as concrete work, framing, and other skills. For the past 25 years Tom specialized in finish carpentry. He was extremely skilled and his work was sought after by many contractors. In 2000, he was awarded "Best of Show" in the Parade of Homes for Finish Carpentry by the Utah Valley Home Builders Association. He took great pride in every home and project, and was a perfectionist to the final nail.

Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with family and friends. He loved spending time with his girls and would spend much of his own time crafting wood projects in his backyard shop.

Tom is survived by his wife Brenda and two daughters, Kara and Shianne (Thomas) Taylor; his siblings: Gary (Vivian), Leon (Jennie Lee), Mavis (Kim-dec.) Burningham, Carolyn, Marva (Ron) Box, and Jim (Nancy). He is preceded in death by his mother and father.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the LDS Church on 455 East 200 South in Pleasant Grove. Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 15, 2012 in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Family and friends may call at the church prior to the services from 10:00 to 11:00.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with burial expenses.
