Mrs. Goris was a graduate of Hyde Park High School in Chicaago, attended Canterbury College in Danville, University of Illinois in Champaign, IL, and received both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Purdue University. She was a member of the Lafayette Christian Reformed Church and had been in charge of the nursery program at church. She was a member of Tippecanoe Benton Retired Teachers Association and Delta Kappa Gamma sorority, and Phi Kappa Phi, Tri Kappa, Alpha Theta Epsilon sororities. She was the recipient of the Valley Forge Teachers Medal and the Gov. Evan Bayh Distinguished Hoosier Award.
Surviving with her husband is a daughter, Kym (Mrs. Tim) Kelly of Lafayette; and three grandchildren, Amy, Jason and Joel Kelly. Preceded in death by a son, Mark A. Goris in July, 1987. Service Sept. 20 at Hippensteel Chapel, the Rev. Gerald DeVries officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
