Funeral services for Russell B. Liedel, of Alton, will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at St. Paul's Episcopal church at Alton.
Mr. Liedel, a native of Springfield, died Friday at Memorial hospital in Alton.
He was assistant state's attorney of Madison county and left Springfield about six years ago. At one time, Mr. Liedel was Alton city attorney.
He was a veteran of the World war, serving twenty-six months overseas. He received his military training at a camp in Springfield interrupting the last year of his work in law at the University of Illinois to enlist. He was allowed leave to graduate before sailing for France.
On his return from the war, he came back to Springfield to practice law.
He was married in Springfield in 1922 to Miss Dorothy Rockwell of Burlington, Vt.
He was a member of the Masonic order with St. Paul's lodge No. 500, A.F. and A.M.
Surviving are his wife and daughter of Alton and his mother, Mrs. Bess B. Liedel of 924 South Fifth street in Springfield.
Burial was at Alton. [Moved to Roselawn in 1947?]
